My new LTD SA-2

Posted by on August 28, 2008
Yes! Finally! It took a while before I had the opportunity to buy the LTS SA-2 Richie Sambora guitar. I have been chasing this guitar, as stated in my other post, since approximately may 2008. The guitar did not come on sale though the european sales channels from end of July. So, I had to wait.

About 2,5 weeks ago I ordered the SA-2 at my local music store, who always gives me very excellent service and is a person who knows his way around. I got the call yesterday and picked up the guitar at the store. (Yes, I did buy a case, strap and straplocks too!).

This is the first picture of the guitar after mounting the straplocks.

The guitar could not be placed into a standard Strat case, so we had to find one that did fit.

The back of of the guitar shows an interesting detail. First of all, the brand of the guitar is not really visible. yes, we all know it is an LTD made by ESP and designed by Richie Sambora and Chris Hofschneider. But does it show? Well actually it does. Check the back of the head:

There is the ESP logo, the serial number and, unfortunately, the “made in China” mark. Sorry for the poor quality of the image, but I made the pictures from my Blackberry.

Looking at the back of the body, you can really see what the design is. It has a great logo on the back:

Pretty cool, eh? Well, the guitar also has an inscription on the neck. here is the picture too.

And, as the last picture, the head of the neck. It has the sambora logo on it. Here it is.

Well, this is it for now. I do have a lot of info on the sound, but that will be for the next post. Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

If you would like to read more reviews on the SA-2, here is the link to Harmony Central. If you own one, it is always nice to leave some feedback.
